Exploring the Sense of Sight

Over our time studying abroad, it is important to keep concepts from Eyes of the Skin in mind. By breaking it down into the five senses, we can deep dive into why and how the building components make us feel a certain way.

We were asked to choose one building component to study by using our five senses. For my case study I chose niches, which are recessed spaces in walls. For the first week, we are focusing on sight. Below are three examples of niches I have found, with details of their appearances. Each one has an the original picture, an elevation, a floor plan, a map location, the materials, the dimensions, and a short note.
